It was such a beautiful morning today!  I got up this morning to help Roxann in the kitchen for breakfast for the Board that's here.  Then came back to the apartment and took Knox for a little walk.  We walked on the trail that was built a year ago for cross country skiing.  I enjoyed it a lot.  It was a little close to the highway at points but overall it was great.  I really enjoyed walking the small trail with Knox, just me and my dog.  We saw a couple deer along the way, and then Knox started chasing a mole.  Now he is taking a nap.

Last night Ellen came to visit and now we're relaxing watching The Hangover.  Hopefully later today, after the Board leaves, Ellen, Jeff, and I will go to some Christmas celebrations in Iron River.  There's a parade, a tree lighting ceremony, and fireworks!!  Sounds like a good time to me!  The parade takes place at night, so everything in it is lit up and supposed to be really pretty.  I'm very excited!!

I think, now, I'm going to try and take a nap before I head back to the Kitchen to help Roxann with Lunch.

This is my dog Knox.  I wanted to start a new post with an adorable picture of him since i haven't posted in almost a year.  He is just over 3 months old now.  He was born on August 27th.  He's a lab, husky, and shepherd mix.  He is incredibly cute but chews on EVERYTHING!!  Still, I love him anyways.  Is it lame that I think of him when I hear that Taylor Swift song "you are the best thing, that's ever been mine."  Yeah, I thought so too.

I started listening to christmas music on Pandora yesterday.  Some Josh Groban songs came on and reminded me just how much I enjoy his singing.  Sooo, I then found out yesterday that he was doing a live online Ustream concert that night.  I really wanted to watch it but you could only gain access with a special code insert from his new album Illuminations.  The code wasn't available if you purchased the album through iTunes, which is the only way I buy my music these days.  So that was a bit annoying last night.

So, instead of watching that concert I put together a bookcase that I bought the other day.  It all went great, but I'm a little worried.  I put the bookcase in my bedroom, where I keep Knox during the day.  He already chewed on a book this morning while I was in the shower.  Good thing I was thinking ahead and put some books on the bottom shelf that I wouldn't mind if he chewed on (just some books from camp).  We'll see how it looks when I go feed him some lunch in a little while.

This Sunday I'll be driving down to Aunt Mia's for the night.  I'm attending some ACA (American Camping Association) training in West Bend, WI.  I'm excited for the training but not excited to take the camp's Jeep.  The radio doesn't always work and doesn't have a cd player.  Soooo, hopefully the drive won't be too miserable.

And then, next friday is the Wedding Rehearsal Dinner here at camp for my friend Amanda's brother.  I'm very excited to see her again.  She's a Outdoor Rec major at NMU and we had MANY classes together.

And then, on the following Sunday, I'm going to Green Bay TO PICK UP LACEY!!!!  I'm so pumped.  I've got a busy week coming up so hopefully it'll go by fast and Lacey will be here in no time!!  Can't wait!

I'm going to try very hard to keep this updated.  Please, if you read this, yell at me if I don't.

William Alexander

HOORAY!!! As of yesterday morning, I have a nephew! William Alexander was born friday at 7:40am. He is so precious. Marian was in the hospital since wednesday night, so lacey, my mom, and I got to take care of Natalie. She slept over at our house!! That was a lot of fun. I love her. She LOVED holding Will. Sometimes she wouldn't even let the nurse take him to check his vitals. She's going to be a excellent big sister. I bought Marian and Adam some boy baby clothes since all they have are Natalie's girl clothes. I can't wait till the next time I see them, Natalie and Will, brother and sister.

Right now I am applying for internships through the Student Conservation Association (SCA). There are so many interesting positions. I'm applying for one in Biscayne National Park where I would help monitor and protect sea turtle nests!! How fun does that sounds?! I'm also applying for a few internships in Alaska. I've always wanted to go to Alaska. It's such a beautiful area.

I hope that I will get one I truly enjoy. I'm worried though about leaving the area, my friends and family. I'm a bridesmaid in Erika's wedding, so I hope i would be able to come home for that. Also, I don't want to leave John for the summer. But hey, it's just the summer. After my internship, I can be with him A LOT!

I've got to get back to applying. Just needed a little break. By the way, LOVED that winter camping course!!! It was so much fun!
