Wow, I haven't blogged in while!  I guess I've been busier than I thought.  Here's what I've been up to.

- Girl's Basketball Team.  I took Heather's spot on the team as the assistant coach on a trip to Petersburg. It was a tournament in there so, the A team and the B team both played 3 games each that first day. There were 13 girls, me, and the head coach Dane.  The trip was really fun and I enjoyed hanging out with the girls for the weekend.  I didn't feel much like a coach though.  I didn't know any of the plays they had learned and I was still learning most of their names.  So, I let Dane do most of the coaching and I sat on the bench yelling and cheering them on.  Still fun.  The boat ride there was...interesting.  I'm glad I finally got to go out on the water here, but I did get a little motion sick.  The ride there the driver was going too fast and hitting the waves super hard.  On the ride back, the driver was much nicer and went slower...probably cause there was really high winds so he was being cautious.  It was a little scary that ride back too because it was dark out and all I could really see were the white caps from the HUGE waves.  It was still a pretty cool adventure though.

- Pet sitting/House sitting!  Ryan and Heather went on their honeymoon to Hawaii for the past two weeks (the just got back this past weekend).  So, while they were gone I stayed at their house and took care of their dog Milo.  He's a pretty cute dog...a bit annoying at times, but overall I love him.  We had words a few times but we generally got a long.  I really enjoyed being out at their house also because 1) they have a larger tv (better for football!), 2) they live more in the woods than where I do (the city) so it was really nice to be among the trees, 3) they have two really big windows in their living room that let in a lot of light during the day and I could watch the snow fall nearly every day! and 4) they have a wood stove, which was super cool to have a fire to sit by every night.  I had a great time there at their place and would gladly do it again!

- Thanksgiving!  Brittany and I made our own Thanksgiving dinner!  It was really fun!  Since I had been house sitting and pet sitting we made our dinner out at Ryan and Heathers.  The menu consisted of mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, stuffing, rolls, mandarin salad, and TURKEY!!  I cooked my first turkey!  It turned out pretty well also!  Except, it did take a little longer than expected to cook (I think it wasn't thawed completely when I put it in the oven..ooops).  So, we ended up eating our dinner without the turkey and then just at the turkey when it was finished...a couple hours later.  OH, also...I started my Thanksgiving day by watching the football game!  It started at 8:30 in the morning here in Alaska and I juuust woke up in time for kickoff.  I was glad that the Packers won and kept their winning streak going, but really I would have been happy if either team won.

- Speaking of the Packers.  On Friday, Brittany and I decided to do a little Black Friday shopping (at the 3 stores that were open here in Wrangell) and we saw this vehicle that had a TON of packer stuff on it.  There were giant G's on each side of the car, packer stickers in the window, a packer license plate in front, and the license plate in back actually read PACKER.  It was pretty cool to see that, but then today I found out who owned the car.  I had actually met her and knew her before I saw her car.  I see her all the time when I'm at the gym.  One day I was wearing my packer shirt and she comes up to me and says "10-0 baby!" and gives me big hug!  It was awesome...and a little awkward (don't know her that well).  But anyways, I saw that car outside the gym this morning and saw she was there also and I put the two together and started talking to her about the packers.  She might be a bigger fan the my mom.  She went to the superbowl this past year when the packer's won and got to talk on the phone to some rookie (can't remember who).  She said her mom had met Vince Lombardi and since then she was a Packer fan.  She's a pretty cool lady!

So, that's what I've been up to.  Countdown till I start my adventure home: 2 weeks and 3 days!  Can't wait!!!!  "Maammmaaa I'm coming HOOOOME!!"
