Hey everyone, sorry it's been so long since I've posted. But now, I have a little time because I'm done with most of my summer classes. I still have one online class that goes until August. So let me tell what life in Minneapolis is like and what my classes are all about.
I'll show you what I've been up to with some pictures...
Well the first thing I did when I arrived in Minneapolis (besides go back to bed) was to go see the Tigers play the Twins at Target Field. It was a good game! Tigers were behind for most of it, but late in the game, got a home run and took the lead! Woohoo, go Tigers!
Some other things I've done here in Minneapolis include shopping at the Mall of America, Sea Life Aquarium, Como Zoo, and the Gay Pride Parade. I have yet to see the infamous Cherry and the Spoon.
Most of my time though, has been spent at school. So, here are some links to some videos we watched in some of my classes. It's pretty interesting stuff!
Willowbrook - Does anyone remember this? This was a school in New York were many people sent their children with disabilities to. This journalism work was the start for Geraldo Rivera. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_sYn8DnlH4&feature=related
The Color of Fear - This movie is a group of men talking about culture issues. It is kind of old, early 90s I think. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Rbfh5oM3EQ
Refrigerator Mothers - I can't believe this even happened in our history. Mothers who had children with autism were accused of "causing" it because they were so "cold" to their children. Really disturbing. Here's a link to the whole documentary. http://www.snagfilms.com/films/title/refrigerator_mothers
FAT City - Really good for teachers. Talks about teaching students who have a learning disability. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G9--hUQDwY Watch other videos of Rick Lavoie. He's pretty entertaining.
4th of July
Spent the fourth here in the city. It was also mine and Chris' anniversary. We sure picked a fun day for an anniversary!

One of theses guys was rescued from the flooding at the Lake Superior Zoo in Duluth.

Breakfast Chris made me!
Spent the afternoon at the beach. Lifeguard in a festive speedo!!
We had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. It was pretty sweet!! Look at the fancy chairs we got!
Flowers that Chris gave me. Also, check out the difference between my desk and Chris' desk...
Chris...nice and clean.
That's what I've been up to. This weekend we have some friends visiting, Jason and Saundra. We're going to Chris' uncle's birthday celebration thing at a beach tomorrow. Then, on Sunday, we're going to Warped Tour to see some bands. Should be a pretty fun weekend! I'll be heading home on Tuesday the 10th.
Goodnight for now!
