Sweet Deal!

Youth books for $1 at Target!

Time for an update!

Looking forward to some football today!  Not sure who I should cheer for, Packers or Lions.  I'll probably go for the Packers since they're behind, but it's so exciting that the Lions are number 1 in the NFC North!  I'll be happy with whoever wins :)

Student teaching has been going really well!  I really like the school that I'm at, and I've enjoyed the elementary setting more than I thought I would.  Those students are just sooo darn cute!  Some 4th graders of mine were singing Ylvis's The Fox song and I just wanted to start singing along with them!  However, I needed to teach :(

On friday, my cooperating teacher had a meeting so she had a substitute teacher for the morning.  She was a nice lady, but since I knew what was going on with the different groups, I did the teaching.  It was cool to be the lead teacher the whole day.  My only complaint from friday was when my students joined a general education classroom to observe some crayfish in the science lab.  The substitute walked around and helped other students, so I was left alone to supervise my students.  There was only six of them, so it wasn't that bad.  However, at one point I looked over at the boys and they had the crayfish out of the bin walking on the table!  They were not supposed to do that.  The science lab teacher came to the rescue, so it was all good!  (I did not want to touch the crayfish!)

I only have a week and a half left at this school.  Parent-teacher conferences are october 15-16, and then I'm done there.  There's been a change with my second placement.  I won't be at Chris's school :(  There's a girl in my program doing her student teaching there right now (with the teacher I would have been with) and her experience there is not going so well.  I guess the teacher hasn't been a great mentor.  So, now I will be going to Roosevelt High School in south Minneapolis.  Chris has heard a lot of good things about this school from some of his classes, so I'm pretty excited to go there.  I'm still really bummed that Chris and I won't be at the same school though!

I was really looking forward to car pooling with Chris also because my Jeep has been leaking transmission fluid.  It's a pretty slow leak, and I've been able to add fluid every now and then, so it's been fine so far.  I've looked online to see if this is an easy fix.  If it's a seal problem, then the transmission needs to be taken out...not cheap.  Sooooo, now I'm not sure what to do.  I guess it's a good thing transmission fluid isn't that expensive.  Anyone know how well products like Trans-X works to fix leaks?

I'll end this post with a new favorite commercial of mine.  It's the from Geico.  Hahahaha it's hilarious.
